He earned the nickname "The Winter Warrior" after showing SS-Standartenfuhrer Korbinian Tybalt von Weiderstein how strong he is literally torturing Soviet Prisoners. Ludvig became a symbolic figure of evil to the Soviet Union.
His origins in the military, dates back to the First World War; where young Ludvig was a Calvary officer in the Prussian Army and then transferred as a Pilot officer in the Deutsche Luftsreitkrafte. In the Air Service, he flew a Pfalz D.III which earned him the title of an ace pilot and awarded with the Blue Max after achieving 32 confirmed kills. He flew along with German Ace pilot Cornelius Shenck von Schneider, who will later help him after Ludvig escapes the Soviet Union.
By 1918, he was transferred to Finland to help the White Guards to defeat the Red Guards during the Finnish civil war.
After the civil war, he stayed there and got married with Heidi named woman and they got an child.
In 1939 when The Soviet Union tried to invade Finland, Ludvig was called to the front and to lead an small jäger battalion to destroy enemy railway roads. After Winter War he joined the Waffen-SS Wiking division and was sent to eastern front.
He befriended his commanding officer, SS-Hauptsturmfuhrer Henrich (Renee) Karl Eichmann at the same time befriends a young Hitlerjugened officer named Ferdinand von Fuerst. At the same time, he started to forget his wife (due to not seeing her for years) and falls for Vanessa Laureli Steiner, but he knows he will betray Heinrich so he does his best not to back stab him.
Ludvig is described as a good man but a man who has a dark background due to his parent's death and suffers severe PTSD.
