This mad world created
Has plagued your mind
I stand before you
My cheeks stained with tears
I have come to realize the truth to this reality
I see you have vanished from the world my love

The dark times have flashed before my eyes
All the dark painful memories
Of things I've seen and have done
The endless suffering and pain of those around me and those beyond the fences of hate

The bombs drop, the bullets fly, the endless ash filled sky above, the ceaseless sound of cannons firing, I don't hear it, why, I don’t know!!!!
Those I know, fall around me
Comrades and enemies alike
But I still trek on this path with courage in my blood

You have fought and lead well beside us all

Do you understand my unthinkable pain?
Do you understand this soldier's heart?
Do you understand the losses?
Do understand what I have been through?

This is all is weighing heavily on my mind!!!!
I'm starting to sink into this pit of despair all this caused

But you were my light in this pitch blackness of despair in my head
Your touch was warm and broke me free of these chains of doubt
I looked into your eyes and saw a ray of hope reflect into mine
Maybe I can keep going through this pain in my soul

My heart has shattered, my spirit ripped at the seams, reality shining its harsh light on me, blinding me

This path I walked closing on me quickly sealing me
