Dr. Albrecht Olbricht is a megalomaniac, sociopath and a sadistic Austrian German scientist who is a primary figure in the METAL STORM: Dark Tales story line and also a the most intelligent character in the METAL STORM: Chronicles.
Dr. Olbricht was born and raised in Vienna, Austria-Hungary along with his younger sister Renate. He studied at Heidelberg University, where Professor Ernst von Trapp tried to be a father figure to him, since young Olbricht at a young age was bullied a lot due to his mental illness. many kids called him a "freak of nature" also a "Retard."
von Trapp believed he was intelligent and mature , though he felt his choices were influenced by friends in UNIT 435, of which both men were a member of.
In 1917 during World War I, Unit 435 located a site in Northern France began the experimentation of robotic war machines called the Clankers, wich was Dr.Olbricht's brilliant idea for mankind forming "The Clanker Society" and began excavation to began the process, however it was shut down by a young Japanese military agent for the Allies, Nayuko Yamashita, also led to the death of von Trapp.

One year later in 1918, believing von Trapp succumbed to the mental effects of paranormal activity, Olbricht began surgery on him to recover his brain and place it in the Die Hummel Drone, but the excavation site became overrun with Clankers. The Clankers terrorized the Western Allies killing more than the 1918 Spanish Influenza.
Amidst the chaos against the Clankers, three allied soldiers, Captain Samuel Robert Kasemeyer, Bolshevik Pilot Aleksandra Gorbacheva and Captain Tomohiro Takahashi had orders to get Olbricht to their personal leaders. The three held Olbricht at gunpoint during the surgery, but faced with an overwhelming situation are forced to work together despite their differences.

In 1941, during the events of the Invasion of the Soviet Union, Dr.Olbricht was called to serve for Germany again in the Waffen SS Medical corps in the Eastern Front, he achieved the rank SS-Brigadefuhrer. Then once again serving as a scientist for the Nazi Sinister plans.
